UPDATE: Since it is not the 1st of April anymore, it looks like those big changes won't be implemented after all... for now ;)


As some of you know, a lot of the crybabies on Forumside want to get our beloved magriders nerfed. Apparently, the developers got sick of it and decided to "fix" our overpowered empire. In the next patch, coming out towards the end of the next week, 3 significant changes will be made to the mag.

1. Their speed on water will be reduced by about 50%, bringing it down to a bit less than 30 kph (this is slower than an Aphelion).

2. The Railgun will be removed, and on its place a new "Flux Plasma Launcher" will be mounted - basically, this shoots bigger, somewhat slower projectiles than the Aurora flux orbs. Unlike the Aurora, it will be an AV weapon, of course, and will also deal burning splash damage. It will deal about the same damage as the railgun, and will also have the same rate of fire as it.

3. The PPA (the driver gun) will be replaced by a 25mm single rotary chaingun (the same as the liberator's tailgun).

So now the mag will be VERY slow over water, will have a firing arc like the Vanguard (and hopefully will also instagib infantry - at least this will be some buff :D), and won't be able to snipe aircraft anymore, except with the driver's 25mm cannon.


Another change in this upcoming patch is a skyguard armor buff - its armor will be doubled. So get ready to pull a lot more skyguards to guard our mags in the future.

Then join Shadow Unit for its raid, every Saturday, starting this week. All ghosts are welcome to join, as well as all non-outfit Vanu, as long as you can follow orders. Required certifications are either Sniping or Anti-Vehicular (Lancer), or Infiltration Suit . Mossie or any other means of transportation is recommended, but not required. Check the Enlisted Ghost Mess Hall if you have any questions.

Depending on the turnout, our tactics will be different. Some of the cloakers might work together with the snipers, to hunt enemy cloakers and finish off wounded enemy soldiers (in case they managed to hide in time before being killed by the snipers). If more than 3-4 cloakers show up, we might split one group and send it to infiltrate a base, to harass the enemy or maybe drop the gen. In any case, we'll have fun even with only 3 people, but the more, the merrier.
